Company's Light Vehicle Customers to Benefit from Regional Chassis Technical
Centers
STUTTGART, Germany, May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ArvinMeritor, Inc.
(NYSE: ARM) today unveiled the company's regional technical support structure
for its light vehicle chassis systems customers located in Europe, North
America and Asia Pacific. Today's announcement was made from the company's
exhibit booth at the 2007 Vehicle Dynamics Expo in Stuttgart.
"ArvinMeritor's ability to serve chassis system customers at the local
level is critical in the vehicle design and program management process," said
Tom Watson, vice president of Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) Engineering and
Technical Planning for ArvinMeritor. "Our technical footprint must mirror the
customer to ensure discipline and collaboration throughout the product
development process. Our customers need to know we're available and closely
integrated into their programs."
Today the company's center of technical competence for light vehicle
chassis systems is located in Troy, Mich., U.S.A. From the 35,000-sq. ft.
facility, chassis engineers and technicians convert customer needs into design
and performance requirements that drive system functionality. Utilizing the
latest virtual simulation tools, including several proprietary design models,
and state-of-the-art development and test equipment, ArvinMeritor's technical
support teams are developing the most cost-effective, efficient and scalable
solutions.
"The same capabilities and level of support are needed in Europe and Asia
Pacific to meet the increasing customer demand for our suspension modules and
advanced chassis solutions," added Watson. "We plan to utilize the current
Bonneval, France ride control facility in Europe and our recently-announced
technical center in Shanghai, China for Asia Pacific."
The European and Asian technical facilities will be involved in several
customer programs beginning in 2008.
